Totally captivated in 2007 by the live camera feed of the Hornby Island nesting Bald Eagles in B.C., I was drawn into birding and have never looked back. Thus begins my account of what I'm fortunate enough to discover each day and perhaps capture with my camera.

Update/Correction on Friday's Mystery Bird at Reifel

Thanks to several birders who have clarified for me that he is, in fact, a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE, vs. a Hammond's Flycatcher. My apologies go to Les, as I was remiss in providing him with complete information other than the photos, due to my inexperience.

On a positive note, it's still a LIFER for me, whoohooo!

WEll, whatever he is, he's very cute. Love the colour - almost a 'dove' grey? Shhhh. Betrayal of the species. But beautifully photographed and now we expect no less. You've set impossibly high photographic standards....
