Totally captivated in 2007 by the live camera feed of the Hornby Island nesting Bald Eagles in B.C., I was drawn into birding and have never looked back. Thus begins my account of what I'm fortunate enough to discover each day and perhaps capture with my camera.

Absolutely No One's getting my Meal!


I dashed over to CKL Road 24 late yesterday morning and as I approached the Kenstone Beach Osprey nest, the young one flew in to have his preening session...












...and on my way back home he assumed the classic mantling position over his sushi to ensure that no one else was going to steal his meal.

The beautiful breast markings are so striking on this first year Osprey, and I think the orange eye colour is already changing over to yellow:
